i dont think it would be possible for this game to crash more often. i get about ten minutes of game play then the white screen of death. force quit then wait several moinutes while the pregame video plays yet again. good shooter while its working but crashes so much i spend more time reloading the gamen than actually playing. Please fix it. this is lame.

When I first installed this game It wasn’t working. It was not responding and laggy. Once I lowered the settings a bit the multiplayer with Gamecenter wasn’t working, so after an hour I found out I need to log out and sign back in with Black Ops. After all this the game is really fun and enjoyable!

Absolutely enjoyed the game, when I could play it. I payed $40 for this game and I’ll be damned if I can’t play it. The game ran fine until I updated my MacBook to El Captian. Do us all a favor since we have payed way too much for a game that came out in 2011 and fix the issues.

I loved playing this game on the PC years ago…back then there were plenty of good players to play against in multiplayer. Now, on the Mac you would be lucky to find 2 servers with players on them & the players are immature children with foul language.

This game was working just fine before I updated my mac software to the El Capitan. Now it freezes or crashes when I am playing the game. Need to fix the game so it works with the new software..

it says to sign into game center to play multiplayer and when i do it still doesen work. I NEED HELP WITH THIS NOW!

the game is really good and i have a new 2014 mac and it runs really smooth but the graphics are not as good as they should be also i you need some one to play with add me on steam Tjmoney01

There’s almost no one on the multiplayer mode :(

I have been an avid COD fan and long time customer since it was first released. While COD 4 was not great at least it was a functioning game. This version running on my IMac crashes everytime I die and then when I am forced to reboot my entire computer and try to resume game where I left off also crashes. It is virtually unusable. I am in the technology business and if my company ever released code with this many bugs to the public people would be fired. This is an absolute shame and I wish I could get my money back. Since I cannot I wish Activision would fix this game so that I could actually play the game I paid $40 to play. HUGE LET DOWN! AVISE ALL IMAC USERS CONSIDERING THIS GAME TO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND DO NOT PURCHASE IT.

I purchased this game for a new FPS. I do not game much and primarily just wanted to blast zombies to relive stress. The game crashes very frequently. I ether get game center crashes or saying I got logged out or the game goes non responsive in full screen and must reboot from power button. I have had the game less that 24 hours and thinking I made a poor choice in my $50 purchase. I am running latest OS and 12 gigs of RAM with no other applications running.

does anyone still play on this?? and dayum the download is soon slow!!! jeez

It’s been months and still no update for this game to run on El Capitan! Has the developer given up on making this game run on EC Macs?????

I consider it highly unfortunate that for some reason the Mac App Store page for this game still offers no warning regarding the known issue (documented on the Aspyr Support pages) regarding frequent crashing of this game in El Capitan. For now, the only workaround they are able to suggest until and IF the game can or will be fixed is to revert back to Yosemite which I don’t consider to be worthwhile for a single game. So please don’t buy this if you have El Capitan without going to the Aspyr site or contacting them to verify first that it has been fixed if you are running El Capitan. I hate to be negative about an Aspyr game because they normally are great ports and they do try to keep them working with new releases of OS X but this one is giving them trouble. El Capitan has been problematic for a number of games so be careful to check publisher support sites and be sure even after this much time anything that predates the release of El Capitan is working okay. As for the game itself, it’s fun even if the multiplayer has a small number of people playing. Last I knew, the numbers may be small but you can get a game so take that info for whatever it is worth to you. Additionally, if you like offline multiplayer experiences with bots, you do actually need to be connected online but there is a fun practice mode that will let you just play with bots. I’ve done that and had a good time at it. So if you like that kind of thing, this does offer that. Lastly, it does offer a very good and enjoyable single player campaign that to me is enough reason to buy and play it but I understand fully that for some folks the multiplayer is where it’s at and the biggest reason to buy a Call of Duty game. If that’s you, I’d recommend checking out the Modern Warfare releases of CoD Apsyr has ported, all of which have strong multiplayer still and good single player campaigns too. So while it pains me to warn you not to buy this if you use El Capitan, that’s the way it is as of this writing and the App Store page currently does not warn about this. I’m sure that is an oversight, not deliberate but this is where user reviews can be helpful. I hope this one has been for you. I give this 2 stars because the game itself is fine on older versions of OS X it supports. I can’t give it more than that until and if they get it working on El Capitan at which point when I would not hesistate to give it 4 stars keeping in mind the points I made about it above.

I love Black Ops the story is engaging, the action is fun, and the missions have high replay value. The downside is this game crashes every single time I play especially on the Hue City mission it either freezes outright during gameplay or crashes if my character dies. I’m usually struggling to survive the mission in order to prevent the game from crashing. Runs very smoothly otherwise I don’t understand what I need to do to keep it from crashing I have a 2015 macbook pro and I run the game on minimal recommended settings. Hopefully they can fix this issue with an update or something. Otherwise great purchase I’m glad they brought some of the COD games to Mac.

Great game, everything I expected, but you have to get used to the controls.

I’ve been babysitting this download tonight. It stalled after 2 hours. I waited and tried again and it nearly downloaded the 12.9 GB of data then mysteriously rebooted the computer…I lost all downloaded programming and it’s trying to install again. This is ridiculous and unacceptable! I’ve never had a problem downloading a large program from the App Store UNTIL THIS GAME! I’m going to try tomorrow morning and if it’s still having problems, I’m calling to demand a refund of my $39.00. Total rubbish….
